Metamorphoses” is based on Ovid’s classic narrative poem, which tells the transformation myths of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Using contemporary language and familiar characters, such as King Midas and his golden touch and Orpheus and Eurydice in the underworld.
Zimmerman’s “Metamorphoses” explores the meaning of being alive through moments of change and the expression of universal emotions.

The focal point of the set for “Metamorphoses” is a large pool in which much of the play’s action takes place.

From I-84, east or west, take Exit 43 Park Road. At the end of the ramp, turn right. We are approximately one half mile on the left. From West Hartford Center, take South Main Street to Park Road and turn left. We are approximately 1 mile on the left.

There is ample free parking on Park Road, Nesbit St., Price Blvd. and Washington Circle.
NOTE: Playhouse patrons are asked not to park in AC Petersen's parking lot, which is reserved for patrons of the restaurant. |
